Music started in church for me where I was involved in the youth movement. Together we sang traditional songs with the ambition to encourage and empower one another during difficult times in South Africa. I also sang in two bands at that time. 

So, my music is very much influenced from this period of my life and continues to be. The recording I did in 2004 is a mixture of different influences, styles and specifically influenced by my heritage. That’s why the album is called Free Yourself.
